SEMESTER 3
The module emphasizes on ‘experiencing space and place’ in architecture. We are introduced to an exploration of spatial typologies & the concept of neighbourhood and community, thus explored the idea of architectural tectonics and experiences. Subsequently, the major project involves the design of a small scale community building in the open suburban condition which engages with the spirit of place inherent within the site.
This module introduced environmental issues and provides some in-depth understanding of the complexities and influences that built environment causes to the natural environment. The module's intent is to instill environmental literacy and understandings of policies related to sustainable design and practices.
The module emphasizes on the specific contextual situations, cultural and philosophical contexts in which those theories arose, and ultimately how they were represented within the domain of interior architectural embodiment. Through readings, lectures, and tutorial sessions, we acquire the literacy required to perceive and articulate contemporary theoretical standpoints, and will refine research and writing skills through a particular aspect of recent interior architectural theory and history.
We are introduced to the world of Computer Generated 3-Dimensional drawings. We applied modelling software such as Revit, Autodesk 3D Max as a design tool to create and modify forms and surfaces. We also learnt to produce photorealistic renderings of architectural materials, lightings, cameras and content.
